Red or green? That's a question often heard in Santa Fe. It refers to whether you want your sauce made with red (dried)or green(fresh) chiles. Chiles are a passion here and can be found in everything from beer to ice cream! In fact, the chile is the one ingredient that is essential to Santa Fe cuisine, which is influenced by Hispanic and Indian cultures. Whether you are making carne adovada, Navajo tacos, or even shrimp satay with red chile syrup, the chile is what unites them all.

Take a weekend to savor the flavors of Santa Fe, from nuevo New Mexican to traditional. You'll enjoy demonstration lessons at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, learning the secrets of New Mexican cuisine. Accommodations are at the Inn of the Anasazi, voted consistently by travel guides as one of the top hotels in the country. Your stay includes a visit to the luxurious Avanyu Spa, where you'll be treated to a massage.

Day One (Thursday)

Arrival on your own at the Inn of the Anasazi, one of the finest hotels in Santa Fe. Tonight, a gourmet treat! You'll dine at the famous Anasazi restaurant where you'll enjoy a prix fix meal featuring the culinary legacies of the Southwest.

Day Two (Friday)

10:00 am cooking lesson at the Santa Fe School of Cooking. Each class lasts about two and half hours and includes exceptional recipes, complete instruction and demonstration of the full menu for the class, and the best meal in Santa Fe!

After lunch walk over to the Avanyu spa, where you will luxuriate with an  hour long massage.

 

Dinner on your own.

Day Three (Saturday)

10:00 am cooking lesson at the Santa Fe School of Cooking followed by lunch.

Afternoon and evening on your own. Wander through art galleries and little shops, or drive out to Bandelier National Monument to visit the Anasazi ruins.

Day Four (Sunday)

Morning check out.
