On the south shore of Lake Ontario you will find the Niagara Peninsulaa unique microclimate ideal for growing grapes and spectacular produce. Here, they have been producing wine since the early 19th century. Today, chefs in this region use the bounty of local farms to create recipes that change with the season and match perfectly with Niagara wines.

Take a weekend to discover this beautiful corner of North America, discovering ways to cook with as well as match, wine with food. You'll take hands-on lessons at the Wine Country Cooking School at Strewn, Canada's only winery cooking school. The format is simple: cook, eat, drink. Repeat! School Proprietor Jane Langdon leads students through the preparation of a three course menu using seasonal ingredients, while her winemaker husband Joe will demystify food and wine paring.

Accommodations will be at the Prince of Wales or Pillar and Post hotel, both historical landmarks in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. In your free time, enjoy carriage rides down the town's tree shaded streets, visit local wineries, see Niagara Falls, or play a round of golf!
