Chateau Chantal is a 65-acre estate located on the Old Mission Peninsula in one of the most scenic areas of the Great Lakes. With its winding roads, vineyards, and breathtaking views you can easily imagine yourself on another continent. From award winning wines to hands-on cooking lessons Chateau Chantal offers the perfect culinary getaway that's close to home but a world away.

Epiculinary invites you to join us for a glorious weekend of wine and food, fresh air and good company at the Chateau Chantal. For two full days you will be immersed in the art of winemaking and cooking while soaking up the beautiful scenery of Old Mission Peninsula. You will learn first hand the art of growing grapes along the 45th parallel (the same as Bordeaux!) Then you'll spend a day in the kitchen learning new techniques, recipes and insights into creating exceptional dishes.

The bed & breakfast at Chantal offers an ambiance unlike any other in the Midwest. Its eight suites, two standard units, and executive apartment each include a private bath, modern amenities, the coziness of a secluded retreat, a full breakfast, and access to the chateau's great room, fireplace and tasting bar.

Day One

Arrival and check-in at Chateau Chantal. Enjoy a wine tasting of Chateau Chantal's wines, which include Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Pinot Meunier. Then relax with a massage--a great way to start your weekend getaway! Evening on your own to enjoy one of the wonderful restaurants located on Old Mission Peninsula.

Day Two

After a full breakfast, join Chef Nancy Allen in the chateau's kitchen for a full day of cooking. Nancy is a graduate of San Francisco's California Culinary Academy and has taught at a number of places including Peter Kump's in New York, Tuscany, and her own cooking school in Traverse City. She writes cookbook reviews for magazines and contributes recipes and menus to various media.
Each session will include an introduction to the day's topic by Nancy then an afternoon of hands-on cooking followed by dinner with wine.

Day Three

This morning feast until your stomachs are satisfied on West Grand Traverse Bay at the only restaurant on the water on Old Mission Peninsula. The brunch at the Boathouse is not to be missed and is a great way to start your day touring the wineries of Old Mission Peninsula.

Day Four

Morning check out.
