Often credited with starting the Tex-Mex cooking craze, Jane Butel published her first cookbooks on New Mexican and American Mexican food in the 1960s. Sixteen cookbooks later, Jane now operates her own cooking school. In fact Bon Appetit has named her school one of the "Best in the U.S."

Jane1

Join Jane for a weekend or week of cooking fun, learning hands-on to prepare traditional and innovative Southwestern dishes. From tortillas, moles, and posole to menu development and presentation Jane teaches her students in a thorough, yet fun manner.

Cooking classes are taught in Jane’s professional kitchen, which is located in Corrales, a Spanish Colonial village along the Rio Grande between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. All feature a team approach, with Jane discussing the recipe's history and ingredients then everyone breaking off and making the dish for the group to enjoy.

There are a number of hotels, a world class resort and bed and breakfasts from which to choose for lodging. There are plenty of beautiful sights to see, shopping in Corrales as well as Albuquerque and Santa Fe, spas, horseback riding, gallery hopping, golfing and more.
