In the heart of Gubbio in central Umbria you will find the Relais Ducale and its famous five-diamond restaurant La Taverna del Lupo. The hotel was once the medieval and Renaissance guest quarters of Duke Montefeltro's palace; today the property continues to welcome discerning travelers who love cuisine, art, and history. The restaurant is a 30 year culinary landmark where master chefs serve classic Umbrian cuisine.

We invite you to on a culinary holiday in the heart of Umbria; a three-night discovery of both the region and its cuisine. Your teachers will be master chefs from either La Taverna or its equally famous catering division. They will lead you in hands-on cooking lessons focusing on the successive stages of an Italian meal. Accommodations will be in the Relais Ducale, situated on the Piazza Grande in Gubbio. The hotel has been extensively renovated and features rooms with antiques and all the modern amenities.



Day One

Afternoon arrival at Relais Ducale.

Dinner Taverna del Lupo restaurant, rewarded 5 Stars DIamond Award and a member of the Piatto del Buon Ricordo association.

Day Two

After breakfast, meet your teacher at the kitchen of the Taverna del Lupo restaurant for the first cooking lesson. Today the focus will be traditional appetizers. Lunch and a tasting of the dishes and local wines will follow.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour with private driver of the charming town of Torgiano, where you will visit the winery and have a tasting.

Dinner on your own.

 

Day Three

Morning cooking lesson in which you will learn the different ways of preparing home made pasta and sauces. Lunch and a tasting of the dishes at the end of the lesson accompanied by a selection of local wines.
