In the heart of Tuscany you will find the wine region of Chianti. Rolling hills, cypress lined lanes, medieval hill towns…these are the quintessential views that come to mind when thinking of Tuscany. Here, you will find a rustic yet refined cuisine--grilled meats, hearty bean dishes, luscious bruschetta, homemade pecorino and fava beans.

Venture to the heart of Tuscany and enjoy a short culinary getaway to learn the local flavors and dishes of the area. Your accommodations for the stay are in Fagiolari, a stone farmhouse originally constructed in 1400. Its owner, Giulietta, has lovingly restored the buildings, adding her own decorative touches. Bedrooms feature original beamed ceilings, whitewashed walls and terracotta floors. All have private bathrooms.

Giulietta is your teacher for the cooking lessons. She honed her skills as a private chef and caterer in Chianti. The hands-on courses feature local dishes and end with a festive dinner accompanied by wine produced on the farm. Pottery lessons are also available.


Day One

Afternoon arrival on your own and check-in at Fagiolari.

Day Two

Wake up to a delicious homemade breakfast featuring local products and steaming hot Italian coffee. The day is free for you to explore surrounding hill towns, markets and wineries.

At 4:30 join Giulietta in the kitchen for your first hands-on cooking lesson. In each session you will prepare a first course, main dish with vegetables, and a dessert. Dinner the lesson and features the dishes you have prepared.

Day Three

Today is yours to explore Tuscany. Perhaps you want to go to Florence for the day…it's only 30 minutes away!
